Profile of blood donors in a hemotherapy institution in Midwestern Brazil

Objective: To describe the profile of blood donors in a hospital Midwest Brazil with its own bank to have diagnostic view establishment and enable planning improvements services. Methods: This is descriptive, retrospective study quantitative approach. A proportional stratified sampling technique was used, confidence level 95% margin error 5%, represent characterize population, obtaining sample 363 donors. Subsequently, allocation performed established groups (fit donors, unfit platelet apheresis donors). Results: The eligible institution studied composed married (55.2%), male (63.7%), aged between 20 30 years (40.4%), O RhD+ (46.7%) (29.6%) more prevalent. Apheresis (50%) are single, female (81.3%), 31 40 (43.8%). As for 94.8% temporary-unfit (53.2%), (54.5%), old (54.6%), categories health condition lifestyle being most prevalent reasons disability.
